Aleksandar Srnec è un artista croato. È noto soprattutto per i suoi design d'avanguardia e la sua arte di cinetica e luci. Srnec è stato uno dei membri fondatori del gruppo Exat 51 con membri attivi dal 1950 al 1956 tra cui gli architetti Vjenceslav Richter, Bernardo Bernardi, Zdravko Bregovac, Božidar Rašica e Vladimir Zaharović e i pittori. Vlado Kristl e Ivan Picelj. Ha creato arte astratta basata sull'uso di forme geometriche. Nel 1953 progettò il primo oggetto cinetico chiamato Space Modulator, mentre nel 1956 iniziò a sperimentare sculture in movimento e rilievi. Durante gli anni '60, Srnec ha partecipato alle mostre New Trend. Dal 1962 partecipa a esperimenti sulle plastiche luminescenti, ad esempio Luminoplastic I, e dal 1968 inizia a fare "ambient art". Il suo lavoro, Bright Space, esposto nel 1967 alla SC Gallery di Zagabria, è il primo oggetto/atmosfera di plastica luminosa dell'arte croata.

Artista astratto che divenne noto per le sue sculture cinetiche, l'arte cinetica luminosa e i design d'avanguardia. Ha aiutato a fondare Exat 51.
