Anna May Wong is an American actress, considered Hollywood's first Chinese-American movie star, as well as the first internationally recognized Chinese-American actress. His diverse careers include silent film, sound film, television, theater and radio. Born in Los Angeles to second-generation Taiwan-American parents, Wong loves movies and began acting at a young age. During the silent film period, she starred in The Toll of the Sea, one of the first color films, and in Douglas Fairbanks' The Thief of Baghdad. Wong became a fashion icon and became an international star in 1924. Depressed with the stereotypical supporting roles she was reluctant to play in Hollywood, Wong moved to Europe in the late 1920s, where she played the role. major in a number of notable plays and movies, including Piccadilly. She spent the first half of the 1930s traveling between the United States and Europe for filming and theater.
