Bryan Bartlett Starr is an American professional football midfielder and coach. He played college football at the University of Alabama and was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the 17th round of the 1956 NFL Draft, where he played for them until 1971. Starr is the only defensive quartet in NFL history to lead a team to three consecutive league titles. He led his team to victory in their first two Super Bowl games: I and II. As the Packers' head coach, he was less successful when he set a record of 52–76–3 between 1975 and 1983. Starr was named top player in the first two Super Bowls and throughout. his career, he won four Pro Bowl tournaments. He won the tournament MVP award in 1966. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame and Packers Hall of Fame in 1977. Starr has the highest playoff passer rating of any midfielder in NFL history and a playoff record of 9-1. His career completion rate of 57.4 was the best NFL when he retired in 1972 .
