Carl Wilson

Carl Dean Wilson is an American musician, singer and songwriter, and co-founder of the Beach Boys. He is best remembered as the lead guitarist, the younger brother of bandmates Brian and Dennis Wilson, and as the band's de facto leader in the early 1970s. The band's music on stage from 1965 until his death. Influenced by Chuck Berry and the Ventures' guitar playing, Wilson's original role in the band was the lead guitarist and backing vocals, but he sang the lead on a number of their later hits, including "God Only Knows", "Good Vi Congratulation" and "Kokomo". Unlike the other members of the band, he often performed alongside recruited studio musicians during the band's critical and commercial peak of the mid-1960s. Joining the band, Carl produced the majority of their albums between 20/20 and Holland, where production is credited as "Beach Boys".
