Douglas Davis, known under the stage name Doug E. Fresh, is a Barbadian American rapper, record producer and beatboxer, also known as "Human Beat Box". A pioneer of 20th century American beatboxing, Fresh can accurately mimic the drum machine and various special effects with just the mouth, lips, gums, throat, tongue, and microphone. In the early 1980s, he formed Get Fresh Crew with DJs Chill Will and Barry B, then added rapper Slick Rick. Their songs "The Show" and "La Di Da Di" are considered the classics of early hip hop. In particular, "La Di Da Di" is one of the most sampled songs in the history of music.
