Karl Fredrik Virtanen is a Sweden-Finnish journalist and columnist for the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet and the host for the talk show Studio Virtanen on Swedish TV8. He's also hosted radio shows for Sveriges Radio. For Aftonbladet, he has been the New York City correspondent, contributing with weekly columns about the life in the Big Apple, as well as an entertainment journalist, writing about e.g. Eurovision Song Contest. In October 2017, the swedish media falsly accused Virtanen of sexual assault and sexual harassment after the hashtag Me Too went viral. In February 2018 it was reported that he changed his surname to his wife's maiden name of Ramqvist. In August 2019, the District Attorney's Office in Stockholm announced that they are prosecuting Cissi Wallin, one of the females accusers of Virtanen, with aggravated criminal defamation.. She was sentenced to probation and ordered to pay 90 000 kronor in damages to Virtanen.
