Gagik Tsarukyan is a former athlete and politician. Also he was elected as a delegate in 2018. He is seen as the most influential of Armenia's former government-connected oligarchs, and a key business partner of former Armenian President Robert Kocharyan. Tsarukyan is the founder and former leader of the Prosperous Armenia political party, with it gaining 15.1% of the vote in the 2007 Armenian parliamentary election. In the ensuing 2012 Armenian parliamentary election, his party increased its share to 19.1% of the popular vote. Announcing his departure from politics for a hiatus in February 2015, he announced his return to politics in January 2017, forming the parliamentary Tsarukyan Alliance, an electoral Alliance made up of Prosperous Armenia, the Alliance party and the Mission party.

About Gagik Tsarukyan
Armenian politician who is best recognized for being the founder and former leader of the Prosperous Armenia political party. He is also known for having served as the President of Armenia's National Olympic Committee.
He graduated from the Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture in 1989. He started his career as an entrepreneur in 1997 by founding the Multi Group Concern group. He then started his career in politics in 2003 when he started serving as an RA National Assembly Deputy.
He is also known for having won the Arm Wrestling World Championship at the 1996 European World Championships.
He met his wife Javahir Tsarukyan while attending Arinj school.
He was honored by Serzh Sargsyan when he gave him the Services Provided to the Motherland medal for his work in the development of RA sports and physical education.
