Georgi D. Efremov is a Macedonian scientist and scholar at the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts in Skopje, Macedonia, and professor at the Faculty of Agriculture and Food in Skopje. He specializes in genetic engineering in human medicine, veterinary medicine and animal biotechnology. He used to be the Ambassador and Minister of Science of the Republic of Macedonia. Efremov was born in the small town of Kratovo, Republic of Macedonia, one of the oldest cities in Europe on December 8, 1932. His father was a wholesaler, one of the richest in the city, until '1945, when the new communist regime of the old Yugoslavia confiscated all their property. Her parents taught their children that education is the only way to have a better life. He began his graduate studies at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Croatia.
