Gro Hammerseng-Edin is a Norwegian former handballer who last played for the club Larvik HK. She was captain of the Norwegian national team for several years, and in 2007 she was voted female World Handball Player of the Year.

Norwegian women's handball player who dominated the sport for over a decade. She had enormous success with the Norwegian national team, with whom she won gold medals at the 2008 Olympics and three European Women's Handball Championships.
She began her youth career with Gjovik HK, playing with the club from 1990 to 1995.
She was voted World Handball Player of the Year by World Handball Magazine in 2008.
She has a child named Mio with fellow handball player Anja Edin.
She and Germany's Ulrike Stange are two of the world's most well-known women's handball players.
