Harry Kewell is a former Australian football player and coach. He has played for Leeds United, Liverpool, Galatasaray, Melbourne Victory, Al-Gharafa and Melbourne Heart. In Leeds, he was named PFA Player of the Year 2000. Internationally, he made 58 appearances for the national team and scored 17 goals while playing for the Australian national team. A left winger is also capable of playing either in an attacking midfielder or as a second goalscorer, he is often regarded by the media as "the best export of Australian football", although his career is ravaged by trauma. In 2012, Kewell was named the greatest player in Australian football in a poll by Australian fans, players and media. Kewell scored against Croatia, placing Australia in the round of 16 of the 2006 FIFA World Cup, Australia's second World Cup. He is a member of the executive committee of the Australian Association of Professional Footballers. Kewell also holds a British passport through his father's estate.
