Hayley Turner is an English professional horse racer Turner is considered the first woman to lead a lasting, daily professional racing career in the UK. Hayley Turner's success saw a dramatic increase in the number of female equestrian apprenticeships in England during the second decade of the 21st century. She became the first woman to run 100 flat race winners. Wolverhampton on December 30, 2008. That year, Turner competed in over 900 races in the UK - one of only five runners to achieve milestone achievements that year. On August 31, 2015, Turner announced that she would be retiring at the end of the season. She retired in 2018. During this time, she was a regular contributor to the ITV race.
