Jacques Rouvier is a French pianist. He studied at the Paris Conservatory with Jean Hubeau, Vlado Perlemuter, Pierre Sancan and later Jean Fassina. He has won two First prizes: piano and auditorium. Rouvier has had considerable success in youth piano competitions. He won the Grand Prix at the Jeunesses musicales de Montréal in 1965. He won first place at the Viotti International Music Competition in Vercelli and at the Barcelona Competition in 1967. Then he won the third prize. at the International Marguerite Long -Jacques Thibaud Competition in Paris in 1971, securing an international career. In 1970 he formed a piano trio with Jean-Jacques Kantorow and Philippe Muller, with whom he continued to perform. Maurice Ravel's recording of complete piano compositions won the Grand Prix du Disque award.
