Jennifer Simpson is an American middle distance runner and steeplechaser. She represented the United States at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, 2012 London Olympics and 2016 Rio Olympics. She is a former American record holder for the 3000 meters steeplechase. In the 1500 meters, she won a gold medal at the 2011 World Championships, a silver medal at the 2013 and 2017 World Championships, and a bronze medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.

She attended Oviedo High School where she was a 5-time state champion in cross country. While she was attending the University of Colorado, she competed in the 2008 Olympics. In January of 2010, she signed her first professional deal with New Balance.
She earned first place at the 2011 World Championships in Daegu, South Korea in the 1500m race. She also won the bronze medal at the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
She was born and raised in Webster City, Iowa. She is also known for posting pictures with her brother John to her Instagram.
She posted a picture with fellow New Balance athlete Emma Coburn to her Instagram in November of 2017.
