Before Fame
In 1987, Jim Bakker resigned as head of The PTL Club, and the news soon broke that Hahn was accusing Bakker of having sexually assaulted her seven years earlier. Bakker contested the charge, saying that the encounter, which occurred while Hahn was a secretary for his church, was consensual.

During the 1980s, she was romantically involved with stand-up comedian Sam Kinison. For nearly twenty years, beginning in the early 1990s, she was the partner of television producer Ron Leavitt.
