John Belushi

John Adam Belushi is an American actor, comedian and singer and one of the original seven members of NBC's Saturday Night Live sketch series. Throughout his career, Belushi has had a close artistic and personal partnership with SNL star Dan Aykroyd, whom he met while the two were working at The Second City comedy club in Chicago. Born in Chicago to Albanian American parents, Belushi started his own successful comedy group with Tino Insana and Steve Beshekas, known as "The Western Compass Trio". After being discovered by Bernard Sahlins, he performs with The Second City and meets Aykroyd, Brian Doyle-Murray and Harold Ramis. In 1975, Belushi was introduced by Chevy Chase and Michael O'Donoghue to SNL creator and host Lorne Michaels, who accepted Belushi as the show's new members after an audition. He has developed a wide range of characters in the highly successful show, including his performances such as Henry Kissinger and Ludwig van Beethoven.

Actor, Saturday Night Live cast member, and Blues Brothers comedian who posthumously received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, on April 1, 2004. Three of the four movies he starred in were with Dan Akroyd; the exception is the cult comedy film Animal House.He was an All-American football player and intended to become a coach. He had his first break as a comedian when he parodied Woodstock in National Lampoon's Lemmings.He died when he mixed cocaine and heroin at age 33.His father was an immigrant from Albania. He met his future wife, Judy Jacklin, at Wheaton Central High School and they married in 1976.He was the brother of TV actor Jim Belushi.
