Josef Bulva is a Czech pianist.
About Josef Bulva
Brilliant musician whose career was thought over in 1996 when his left hand was permanently injured. He returned 13 years later to great acclaim.
He was graduated with honors from the Bratislava Music Academy. He was named an artist of the State soon after.
He refused to go mainstream and wasn't free from controversy, but was lauded for his virtuosity, insight, and musicality, even being called the pianists' pianist.
His family nurtured his talent while he was young, and he began taking piano lessons when he was nine at the Napajedla music school.
He made his own arrangements of Richard Wagner's Overture to Tannhäuser and Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 by Franz Liszt.
