Joseph Banowetz is an American-born pianist, pedagogue, author, and editor, currently teaching at the University of North Texas. Banowetz is an expert on the music of the Russian Romantic Composer, Anton Rubinstein.
About Joseph Banowetz
Musician, author, and educator considered to be a giant among keyboard artists of his time and a virtuoso.
He was graduated from the Vienna Akademie für Musik und Darstellende Kunst with a First Prize in piano performance. Because of his exceptional abilities, he was sent on a European concert tour by the Austrian government.
He became a National Patron for the international professional music fraternity Delta Omicron.
His family recognized his talents early on, and he studied with some of the best teachers available, including Carl Friedberg and György Sándor.
He was considered to be one of the greatest experts on Russian Romantic composer Anton Rubinstein's repertoire.
