Juan Esteban Aristizábal Vásquez, known as Juanes, is a Colombian songwriter and singer-songwriter, former member of rock band Ekhymosis and currently solo artist. In 2000, her first solo album Fíjate Bien won three Latin Grammy Awards. According to his label, Juanes has sold more than 15 million albums worldwide. Growing up in Colombia, Juanes started playing piano at the age of two. When Juanes was 17, he started his first group, Ekhymosis, in 1988, going on to release eight albums, recognized in his native Colombia. The song "Dos" from the 1992 album Niño Gigante was very popular. In 1997, after the band disbanded, Juanes went solo and in 2000 he released an album, Fíjate Bien, which won him three Latin Grammy Awards. His next album, Un Día Normal, was released in 2002 and was subsequently certified platinum in Guatemala and Uruguay across Latin America.
