About Keenan Cornelius
Brazilian jiu-jitsu competitor who gained fame for having won the jiu-jitsu grand glam as a double purple belt gold medal winner at four major tournaments, including the World Jiu-Jitsu Championship. He also originated the Worm Guard technique.
He began grappling with friends at age 14. He won his first major jiu-jitsu tournament as a purple belt at the 2012 Abu Dhabi World Pro Trials Montreal.
He won both the Pan-American Championships and European Open Championships as a heavyweight black belt in 2018. He also won the World No-Gi Championship as a middle-heavyweight black belt in 2017.
He began studying Brazilian jiu-jitsu under his step-father Tom Callos.
He trained under BJ Penn for three years at the beginning of his jiu-jitsu career.
