Kelis Rogers is an American singer, songwriter and conductor. At the age of 14, Kelis was admitted to the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School for Music & Performing Arts in New York City, where she learned to play the saxophone and secured a place in the Girls of Harlem Choir. After graduating from high school in 1997, Kelis did a variety of jobs before receiving a suitable position for a relieved voice on the single "Fairytalez" released by the American hip hop group Gravediggaz. She then began working with music producers Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo, known as The Neptunes, which eventually led to her signing with Virgin Records in 1998. Kelis released the album. Kaleidoscope debuted with Virgin Records on December 7, 1999. Inspired by jazz and disco music from the 1970s, the album was a huge international success. He produced three singles: "Caught Out There", "Good Stuff" and "Get Along With You".
