Logan Morris was a judge on the US Tax Appeals Commission from 1925 to 1937. Born in Logan, Utah, Morris was a Mormon missionary in Switzerland and Germany from 1911 to 1913, followed by letter signed for Senator Reed Smoot. Washington, DC, for this purpose in 1914, and received a law degree from George Washington University in 1917. He served as an officer in the United States Army during World War I. Returning from the war, he was a secretary to the US Senate Committee on Public Land and a lawyer for various government agencies. In 1921, President Warren G. Harding appointed Morris Special Prosecutor to the Internal Revenue Service, and in 1925, President Calvin Coolidge appointed Morris to the new Board of Tax Appeals. Morris served on the agency for 12 years, including a four-year term as Chief Justice. Morris resigned from the Tax Appeals Committee in 1937 to enter private practice, and was replaced by Clarence V. Opper.
