Former child actor who appeared in Movie Stand by Me and was nominated for an Academy Award for his performance in Movie Running on Empty. In the 1989 blockbuster Movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, he also played a young Indiana Jones. At the age of 23, he unfortunately died of a heroin overdose.

His most recent film was the drama Dark Blood. Due to his death, filming was not completed, and the movie remained unfinished for 19 years before being completed and screened at the Netherlands Film Festival in September 2012.
