Susanna "Susan" Kohner is a former American actress who has worked in film and television. Known for her role as Sarah Jane in Imitation of Life, she was nominated for an Oscar and won a Golden Globe Award. She plays a black woman who "conquered" white skin when she was a child and an adult. After marrying clothing designer and writer John Weitz in 1964, Kohner retired from the theater to spend time with his family. His two sons, Paul Weitz and Chris Weitz, both went on to become film directors and producers, screenwriters and sometimes actors.
