Tina Turner is a singer, songwriter and actress born in the United States. Widely known as the "Queen of Rock 'n' Roll", she became the lead singer of Ike & Tina Turner before her successful solo career. Turner began her career with Ike Turner Kings of Rhythm in 1957. As Little Ann, she appeared on her debut album, "Boxtop", in 1958. In 1960, she was introduced as Tina Turner with the disc. single "A Fool in Love". The duo became "one of the most formidable live performances in history". They released hits like "It's Gonna Work Out Fine", "River Deep - Mountain High", "Proud Mary" award-winning Grammy and "Nutbush City Limits" before going their separate ways in 1976. In the 1980s, Turner launched "one of the greatest comebacks in musical history."

After her parents split in 1978, she moved in with her great-aunt and harvested cotton with them as sharecroppers. She began her career as a nurse's aide and dreamed of becoming a nurse.
In 2008, she embarked on a 50th anniversary tour, breaking the record for solo artist concert ticket sales.
She acted alongside F. Murray Abraham [Movie Actor] in the 1993 film Last Action Hero.
