Vernon Anthony Adams Jr. is a professional American midfielder of Canadian football who is currently a member of the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football Federation. He plays college football for East Washington Eagles and Oregon Ducks. He is also a member of Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Former Eastern Washington University quarterback known for transferring to the University of Oregon as a senior in 2015, where he was seen as the heir to Heisman Trophy-winner Marcus Mariota. Injuries limited his effectiveness and he finished with a 7-3 record while missing four games.
He enrolled at Eastern Washington University in 2011 and spent his freshman season as a redshirt. He proceeded to start for the Eagles for three seasons before taking advantage of the NCAA's graduate transfer rules to play at Oregon.
After not being selected in the NFL Draft, he signed with the CFL's Montreal Alouettes. He was a two-time Walter Payton Award-finalist while at Eastern Washington.
He was born to Vernon Adams and Desirae McWhorter. He had a son with Cheyenne Merritt in 2014.
He was teammates with Royce Freeman while at Oregon.
