David Bromberg is an American multi-instrumental musician, singer and songwriter. An eclectic artist, Bromberg plays bluegrass, blues, folk, jazz, country and western, and rock and roll. He is known for his unique and humorous lyrics along with his ability to play rhythmically and lead the guitar at the same time. Bromberg has performed with many famous musicians including Jerry Jeff Walker, Willie Nelson, Jorma Kaukonen, Jerry Garcia, Rusty Evans and Bob Dylan. He co-wrote the song "The Holdup" with George Harrison, who performed on Bromberg's 1972 album of the same name. In 2008 he was nominated for a Grammy Award. Bromberg is known for the style of fingering he learned from Pastor Gary Davis.
