Ralph McTell
Ralph McTell is an English singer, songwriter and guitarist who has been an influential figure in British folk music since the 1960s. McTell is best known for the song "Streets of London", which has been covered by more than 200 artists around the world and his Irish migration story, "From Clare to Here". During the 1980s, he wrote and performed songs for two children's TV shows, Alphabet Zoo, also starring Nerys Hughes, followed by Tickle on the Tum, with Jaqui Reddin. The album was also released from both series. He also recorded the Keith Hopwood and Malcolm Rowe theme song on Cosgrove Hall adapted from The Wind in the Willows, and it was released as a single in 1984 after the series aired on ITV. McTell's guitar play is modeled after the early 20th century American country blues guitarists, including Blind Blake, Robert Johnson and Blind Willie McTell.
