Alan Grayson
Alan Mark Grayson is an American politician and member of the Democratic Party, serving as the U.S. Representative for Florida's 9th Electoral District between 2013 and 2017 and Florida's 8th Election District since 2009 to 2011. He was defeated when he ran for re-election. in 2010 by Republican Daniel Webster and then elected in 2012 for a second consecutive term in the House of Representatives, beating Republican Todd Long. In 2016, Grayson decided not to run again for his House of Representatives seat to run for the US Senate seat in Florida in 2016. He was beaten between 59% and 18% in the Democratic primary by his colleague representing Patrick Murphy, who subsequently lost the general election to the incumbent Marco Rubio. In 2018, Grayson entered the race for the 9th district. He was defeated by his successor Darren Soto in the Democratic primary election at 66% -34%.
