Claressa Maria Shields is an American professional boxer and mixed boxer. She has held numerous world championships in three weight classes, including the undisputed women's lightweight championship title since March 2021; the undisputed female middle class title from 2019 to 2020; and the WBC and IBF women's super-middle championship belt were brought together from 2017 to 2018. Shields currently holds the record of becoming second and third in the world championships among less professional matches. As of November 2020, she was ranked the most active lightweight boxer in the world by The Ring and BoxRec, as well as the most active boxer, in balanced pound, by Lineal Boxing Champion and ESPN, finalist by The Ring and fourth by BoxRec. Shields is the only boxer in history, female or male, to hold the four major world boxing titles - WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO - simultaneously in two weight classes. She was the first woman to win a weight class championship in two weight classes.

In June 2018, an American professional boxer won the unified world champion in two weight classes. She has two Olympic gold medals in the women's middleweight division - one from the 2012 London Olympics, and one from the 2016 Rio Olympics - making her the first American boxer to win consecutive Olympic medals, and the first American woman to win a gold medal in boxing.
