George Alexander Trebek, Canadian-American and game show host. He's the host of the synthetic game Jeopardy! in 37 seasons from his rebirth in 1984 until his death in 2020. He has also hosted a number of other game shows including The Wizard of Odds, Double Dare, High Rollers, Battlestars, Classic Concentration and To Tell the Truth. Trebek has also appeared in many dramas in which he often played the leading role. Originally from Canada, Trebek became a US citizen in 1998. He has seven times received the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Game Host for his work on Jeopardy !. He died on November 8, 2020 at the age of 80 after a nearly two-year battle with pancreatic cancer. It was signed to welcome Jeopardy! until 2022 .
