Braden Holtby is a Canadian professional ice hockey scorer for the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League. He was selected for the fourth, 93rd round overall, by the Washington Capitals in the 2008 NHL Draft, where he will spend his first ten seasons of his career. After a few years of development, Holtby became the Capitals' starting scorer in the shortened 2012-13 season. As of the 2014-15 season, Holtby has won at least 40 games in three consecutive seasons. In 2016, Holtby won the record for most goals scored in a season with 48 goals and received the Vezina Trophy as the tournament's top scorer. The following year, he won the William M. Jennings Trophy for helping the Capital team score the fewest goals in the tournament. In 2018, Holtby assisted the Capital to win its first Stanley Cup title in franchise history.
