Brian McGrattan
Brian McGrattan is a former Canadian professional ice hockey player and current member of the Calgary Flames player development team. McGrattan was selected in the fourth round for the Los Angeles Kings in the 1999 NHL Draft, but has never signed a contract with the team. He signed with the Ottawa Senators organization in 2002 and made his NHL debut with the team three years later. McGrattan also played in the NHL with Phoenix Coyotes, Nashville Predators and Calgary Flames. As a career athlete he was also a member of five US hockey teams and ended his career in 2017 in the UK as a member of the Nottingham Panthers of the Elite Ice Hockey League. As executor, he holds the American League record for most penalty minutes in a season at 551, set in 2004-05 with the Binghamton Senators. McGrattan overcame the alcohol abuse problem that did him early in his career and became a senior member of the NHL's addiction program and a mentor to other players.
