Damien Geoffrey Wright is an Australian cricket coach and former first class cricketer who coached the Hobart Hurricanes cricket team. Wright made his debut in Tasmania in 1997, playing with the team until moving to Victoria in the 2008-09 season. In 2002, he played for the Scottish cricket team as their only licensed foreign player - he has also had county cricket matches against Northamptonshire, Glamorgan and Somerset. He is a right-hand pitcher and a right-arm fast mid-pitcher. It has bowling ability and very strong cross-ball ability. Wright began coaching Hobart Hurricanes in the Big Bash League 03 in 2013-14, coaching the team that defeated the so far unbeaten Melbourne Stars in the tournament. After that, the Hurricanes lost the final to Perth Scorchers. Wright went on to coach the Hurricanes to the 2014 T20 Champions League semi-finals in India.
