Gregory Walter Graffin is an American singer, songwriter, and evolutionary biologist. He is recognized as the lead singer, musician and sole member of the punk rock band Bad Religion which he co-founded in 1979. He began his solo career in 1997, when he released the album American Lesion. His next album, Cold as the Clay, was released nine years later. His latest solo work is Millport, released in 2017. Graffin received his doctorate in zoology from Cornell University and has taught natural sciences at both the University of California, Los Angeles and Cornell University.
