Janet Echelman is an American fiber sculptor and artist. His sculptures have been displayed as a public work of art, often by site-specific installations. The works include: 1.26 exhibited in five continents; His secret is patience in downtown Phoenix; Water Sky Garden, created for the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Winter Games; It changes on the waterfront in Porto, Portugal; and per second at San Francisco International Airport. Recipient of the Guggenheim Fellowship, Echelman was named 2012 Standard Architectural Innovator for “changing the nature of urban spaces”. Echelman's work has been reviewed on The New York Times, Newsweek, Time and selected for "The Innovators" by Architectural Digest. She currently sits on the Harvard Supervisory Board.
