They enjoyed considerable success in the early 1990s with a mix of older hip hop, soul, and more pop urban R&B. After recording his first single "Ode to a Forgetful Mind" in 1988, P.M. Dawn released his critically acclaimed debut album Of the Heart, of the Soul and of the Cross: The Utopian Experience in 1991. He achieved immediate commercial success with the single "Set Adrift on Memory Bliss". Their next 1993 album The Bliss ...? was also critically acclaimed and featured hit singles "I'll Die Without You" and "Looking Through Patient Eyes". AFTERNOON. Dawn continues to receive good reviews with their follow-up albums Jesus Wept and Dearest Christian, I'm So Very Sorry for bring You Here. Love, dad, that sells badly.
