Ridley Bent is the stage name of Brian Fowler, a Canadian country singer and songwriter. Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Bent grew up across Canada into a military family. He officially kicked off his music career in 2000 in British Columbia, including opening concerts for the Great Big Sea and Sam Roberts. His first album, Blam!, Was released on MapleMusic Recordings in 2005, and is marked by a style that combines country, rock and hip hop influences, in a similar way to Buck 65. The album was produced by Chin Injeti, formerly by The Bass of R & B group Base. Described by Bent as "hick hop", the album best known for his single "Suicidewinder". His subsequent albums, 2007 Buckles and Boots and 2010 Rabbit on My Wheel, pursued a more conventional country vibe. In early 2009, Bent's song "Nine Inch Nails" won the 8th Independent Music Awards and the Vox Pop Election for Best Country Song.
