Scott Pruett
Scott Donald Pruett is a former American racing driver who competed in NASCAR, CART, IMSA, Trans-Am and Grand-Am. He and his wife Judy have three children and author of children's books. Pruett started kart racing at the age of 8 and won 10 professional kart championships. In the 1980s, he became one of America's top sports car racers, eventually winning two IMSA GTO Championships and three Trans-Am Series Championships. During the 1990s, Pruett was a frequent figure on the CART channel. From 1988 to 1999, he made 145 starts with two wins, five championships and 15 podiums. During his preseason testing in 1990, Pruett was involved in a serious accident at the West Palm Beach Fairgrounds in West Palm Beach, Florida, where he seriously injured both legs. Pruett spent the 1990 season recovering and on some occasions calling broadcasters ESPN IndyCar as a black commentator with Paul Page on the play.
