Teppei Teranishi is the lead guitarist and keyboardist of rock band Thrice from Orange County, California. He is Japanese-American. After graduating from Irvine High, where band member Dustin Kensrue also graduated, he briefly attended Orange Coast College and then left without a degree, to be part of Thrice. In addition to his guitar and keyboard duties, he also provided backing vocals for Thrice's live performances. He likes guitars from Gibson Les Paul and Fender Telecasters among others. He is also on a side project called Black Unicorn with his friend Chris Jones. As a young man, he began to learn classical guitar and was influenced by the heavy metal bands Pantera and Megadeth. Finally, he entered the punk music scene. Teranishi is an avid Beatles fanatic and a fan of classics from the 50s, 60s and early 70s.
