Gordon Lee "Tex" Beneke is an American saxophonist, singer and conductor. His career is a history of relationships with conductor Glenn Miller and previous musicians and singers who worked with Miller. His team is also closely linked to the careers of Eydie Gormé, Henry Mancini and Ronnie Deauville. Beneke also recited on the Glenn Miller Orchestra recording of their famous song "In The Mood" and sang on another Glenn Miller's famous record, "Chattanooga Choo Choo". Jazz critic Will Friedwald considers Beneke one of the great blues singers who sang with big bands in the early 1940s
