Timothy Scott Couch is a former defender of American football who has played in the National Football League for five seasons with the Cleveland Browns. He played college football at the University of Kentucky where he won the All-American title. First chosen by Browns in the 1999 NFL Draft, Couch was the franchise's first choice after being reactivated as an expansion group. Couch threw more than 11,000 meters of passes and helped the Browns advance to the knockout stages in 2002, but his career was ultimately cut off by injury. After resuming attempts at Green Bay Packers and Jacksonville Jaguars, he retired after failing to make the final list for both teams. While Couch has not been able to replicate success at his university, he remains the first midfielder to lead the Browns to the knockout stages since his return to the NFL and has only done so in a time span of five. 2002 to 2019
