Tony Wayne Baxter is the former Senior Vice President of Creative Development at Walt Disney Imagineering and responsible for the creation of designs and execution of attractions around the world. He announced his retirement from his full-time position to become a part-time consultant on February 1, 2013, which also marks his 66th birthday. During his 47-year tenure with the company, he oversaw the construction of many attractions at Disney's contemporary theme park, including the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Star Tours, Splash Mountain, The Indiana Jones Adventure, and Journey Into Imagination, and executive producer of Disneyland Paris. Baxter was first hired at Disneyland Park in 1965 as an ice cream scooper on Main Street, USA, at the age of 17. While working in the park, he held various positions. Then it caught the attention of WED Enterprises.
