Über World Series MVPs
Award that is given to the player who has the best performance during the annual World Series. While the World Series itself began in 1903, the MVP award wasn't introduced until over 50 years later. Only a small handful of players have won the award multiple times. Pitching legend Sandy Koufax became the first repeat winner of the award, claiming it in 1963 and 1965.
World Series MVPs Erfolg
In 2018, the award was renamed the Willie Mays World Series Most Valuable Player Award to honor Hall of Fame outfielder Willie Mays. While Mays never won the award himself, he made a historic catch during the 1954 World Series that became one of the most famous plays in World Series history. It is widely known as simply "The Catch."
