Aksel Lund Svindal ist ein ehemaliger norwegischer Weltcup-Skirennfahrer. Geboren in Lørenskog im Kreis Akershus, war Svindal zweifacher Weltcup-Gesamtsieger, Olympiasieger im Super-G bei den Olympischen Winterspielen 2010 und im Abfahrtslauf bei den Olympischen Winterspielen 2018. Mit seinen Erfolgen halten ihn viele für den besten norwegischen Alpin-Snowboarder aller Zeiten. Während der große Kjetil Andre Aamodt bei den Olympischen Spielen mehr Erfolg hatte, ist Svindal das mit Abstand erfolgreichste Team ihrer WM-Runde. Ende Januar 2019 gab er nach der Ski-WM 2019 seinen Rücktritt vom alpinen Skisport bekannt.
