Er schrieb das Buch The Model Theory of Groups, das versuchte, die Mathematik weniger trocken und angenehmer zu packen.  2018 wurde er vom Internationalen Kongress von Mathematicians mit dem Leelavati Award ausgezeichnet. Anschließend besuchte er die Pariser Diderot University, wo er von 1977 bis 1981 Mathematik studierte. Er promovierte in mathematischer Logik und Algebra von mtt_mt. Er arbeitete als Assistenzprofessor auf dem Berkley -Campus des Mtt_Mt.Mtt_MTWenn sein Vater starb, er kehrte 2004 in die Türkei zurück, um die Nesin Foundation zu leiten.  Er ist der Chefredakteur der Zeitschrift Mathematics World, die seit 2003 vierteljährlich veröffentlicht wurde. Er ist mit Özlem Beyarslan verheiratet und sie haben 4 Kinder.
