Edsel Bryant Ford ist ein US-amerikanischer Geschäftsführer und Philanthrop, der Sohn des wegweisenden Industriellen Henry Ford und seiner Frau Clara Jane Bryant. Er war von 1919 bis zu seinem Tod 1943 Präsident der Ford Motor Company. Sein ältester Sohn war Henry Ford II, der seine Nachfolge als Präsident von Ford antrat. Er arbeitet eng mit seinem Vater zusammen, dem alleinigen Erben des Unternehmens, möchte aber Autos entwickeln, die interessanter sind als das Modell T, um seinem persönlichen Geschmack gerecht zu werden. Selbst als Präsident bemühte er sich, seinen Vater davon zu überzeugen, Abweichungen von dieser Formel zuzulassen. Nur eine Änderung der Marktbedingungen ermöglichte es ihm, 1927 ein modischeres Modell A zu entwickeln. Edsel gründete auch die Mercury-Division und war für Lincoln-Zephyr und Lincoln Continental verantwortlich. Es führte wichtige Funktionen wie hydraulische Bremsen ein und steigerte die Produktion des Unternehmens in Übersee erheblich. Ford ist ein bedeutender Philanthrop in Detroit und hat auch Admiral Richard Byrds Polarexpeditionen gesponsert.
