Frank Templeton Prince ist ein englischer Dichter und Gelehrter, der vor allem für sein berühmtestes Gedicht The Bathing Soldiers bekannt ist, das 1942 während des Zweiten Weltkriegs geschrieben wurde und regelmäßig in Anthologien enthalten ist. Er wurde in Kimberley, Südafrika geboren. Ihr Vater ist Henry Prince vom East End von London niederländischer jüdischer Abstammung, während ihre Mutter schottisch ist. Er absolvierte eine Ausbildung am Christian Brothers College in Kimberley und anschließend am Balliol College in Oxford. Er war Gastprofessor an der Princeton University. Während des Zweiten Weltkriegs war er an der Geheimdienstarbeit im Bletchley Park beteiligt. Er heiratete 1943 und nahm eine akademische Nachkriegsposition an der Universität von Southampton an, wo er sich niederließ. Mitte der 1970er Jahre unterrichtete er an der University of the West Indies in Jamaika sowie an der Brandeis University in den USA und der Sana'a University im Jemen. Princes frühes Werk wurde von T.S. Eliot, der damals Chefredakteur bei Faber und Faber war.
