Gail Seymour "Hal" Halvorsen ist ein pensionierter leitender Offizier und Kommandopilot der United States Air Force. Er ist bekannt als "The Berlin Bomber" oder "Onkel Wiggly Wings" und wurde berühmt dafür, dass er während der Berliner Luftwaffe von 1948 bis 1949 Süßigkeiten an deutsche Kinder hinterließ. Während dieser Zeit gründete er "Operation Little Vittles", ein Versuch, die Moral in Berlin zu steigern, indem er für die Stadtbewohner Süßigkeiten auf einen Miniaturfallschirm wirft. Halvorsen startete "Little Vittles" ohne Erlaubnis seiner Vorgesetzten, wurde aber im folgenden Jahr mit Unterstützung aus ganz Amerika zum Nationalhelden.
