Genesis Breyer P-Orridge is an English singer-songwriter, musician, poet, performance artist, visual artist and mystic who has emerged as the founder of the art collective. Art COUM Transmission and lead singer of the established industry group Throbbing Gristle. P-Orridge is also a founding member of the paranormal group Thee Temple ov Psychick Youth and leads experimental pop rock group Psychic TV. Born in Manchester, P-Orridge quickly developed an interest in art, the occult and pioneers while studying at the Solihull School. After dropping out of school at Hull University, P-Orridge moved to an anti-cultural commune in London and adopted Genesis P-Orridge as a guerrilla warrior. Back in Hull, P-Orridge founded COUM Transmission with Cosey Fanni Tutti, and in 1973 they moved to London.
