Gérard Côté ist ein kanadischer Marathonläufer und viermaliger Gewinner des Boston-Marathons. Geboren in Saint-Barnabé-Sud, Quebec, trainierte Côté zum Boxer, als er zum Marathon wechselte. Er nahm 1936 an seinem ersten Boston-Marathon teil und gewann die Rennen 1940, 1943, 1944 und 1948. Mit seinen fünf Siegen stellte er einen neuen Streckenrekord auf. 1940 und erhielt die Lou Marsh Trophy als Kanadas bester Sportler des Jahres. Côté war der erste Französischsprachige, der eine Auszeichnung erhielt. Côté hat auch dreimal den Yonkers-Marathon und dreimal die Amateur-Marathon- und Leichtathletik-Meisterschaft der United States Union gewonnen. In 264 Rennen ihrer Karriere hat Côté 112 Siege eingefahren, davon 56 auf dem zweiten Platz. Er nahm an den Olympischen Sommerspielen 1948 teil, aber seine Wadenkrämpfe hielten ihn auf dem 17. Platz.
